Geochemical Conditions and Factors Controlling the Distribution of Major, Trace, and Rare Elements in Sul Hamed Granitic Rocks, Southeastern Desert, Egypt

Egypt is mainly covered by ophiolitic rocks, muscovite, and two mica granites, in addition to different types of acidic basic dikes. Our field observations indicated that El Sela granites were subjected alteration such as silicification, kaolinization, hematitization, which associated with uranium mineralization. Petrographic investigations clarified these rocks affected saussiritization, muscovitization, silicifications the main mineralization (uranophane autunite). We carried out chemical analyses our samples for major oxides trace rare earth elements using ICP-OES ICP-MS. The studied altered had high silica, titanium, phosphorous components, enhanced amounts Nb, Ta, Zn, Mo, Pb, Re, REE, especially light ones. average REE content was higher than worldwide LREE enrichment. One sample a strong M-type tetrad effect fourth type; other weak W-type third type, indicating hydrothermal processes granites. This confirmed calculating ratios most isovalents deviated from chondritic ratio many values. Variation diagrams U some illustrated positive correlation Y gold, while it moderate negative Hf Zr/U. In addition, weakly defined elements, magmatic processes, post-magmatic surficial or underground water greatly influenced redistribution elements.
